What Will My Massage Session Be Like?

What should I expect during my first Massage Therapy appointment?

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist offering a wide variety of therapeutic massage. To assist you with the best standard of care, you will need to complete a health history questionnaire.

Please list any prescriptions you are taking on the space provided on the form. Also check off or list any health concerns including diagnosis of any diseases, surgeries, and dates of any serious accidents or injuries that you have been in past or present.

Where will my massage session take place?

Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax.  You are welcome to bring your own special lotions and music. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

What do I wear during the massage?

You may disrobe to your level of comfort. However, to get the most from your full body massage, it is best to allow access to all areas such as the neck, back, arms, hips and legs. It is preferable to remove all clothing and jewelry prior to getting under the blanket and sheet on the massage table. Your personal modesty will be respected at all times during the massage session by a liberal draping of all areas that are not being massaged.

What will I do during the massage?

Your job is to relax. That being said, you should be comfortable. If you feel comfortable talking during the massage, I love to talk with my clients. If you just want to chill and take a break for a while, that is up to you. The only thing I ask is that you feel free to check in with me if there is anything you need during the massage.

What can I expect after my massage session?

Good massage therapy gives a sense of renewed life, making you feel refreshed and happier. Your aches and cares will ease and you will feel better equipt to handle the stresses you encounter in your life. Getting Deep Tissue or Sports Massage will help you get relief from sore and stiff  muscles.

Be prepared to drink plenty of pure water after your massage session. Doing so will rehydrate you and reduce the chance of experiencing painful muscles later. Lactic acid and other cellular wastes will move successfully out of the body increasing your chances of retaining the benefits of your massage more fully.
